Pumpkin Decorating Fun!!

It's getting to be that time of year! Time for scarves, cider, and pumpkins!!!! So in honor of fall, we are offering up a pumpkin decorating opportunity for you to showcase your talents! Naturally the pumpkins will be knitted, not grown on the farm, and George has designed an original pattern for you to use to make them! The pattern is free (and available by clicking the Pumpkin Pattern link at the top of this page) so all you need is the yarn and appropriate needles for the project. Once knitted, decorate your pumpkin and be sure to bring it with you to Knit Nite (10-28-11) for a pumpkin show and chance at a $25 gift certificate from the Shabby Sheep.

Happy knitting!!!!

Back on Track!

George and I are super excited to let everyone know that we have finally moved into our new location at 116 S Avenue B in Portales, NM. We only moved about 1/2 of a block from our old location, but it was a major undertaking! We are still unpacking boxes and trying to get all the work spaces set up, but we are open for business and Knit Nite is going strong every Friday night from 6p-until we all collapse from exhaustion! LOL We are looking toward new things on the horizon as we begin to offer new services and new classes. Come on by and see our new facility and join us for Knit Nite! We look forward to seeing lots of familiar faces and getting to know new ones as we continue to build and grow!
Thanks,
Vickie

Our First Giveaway~Sugar Lane

The first week in the new shop was AMAZING! We are looking forward to our big Christmas Crawl that starts this Friday.

Today I want to introduce you to Megan the creator of Sugar Lane patterns. She has an Etsy shop called Sugar Lane and you can find her as SugarLaneKnits on Ravelry.

She offers unique and adorable hat patterns that range in sizes fm Newborn to Adult Small.

Her first foray into designing came about because she wanted to make the perfect preschool hat for her little boy. She couldn't find anything close to what she had invisioned in her mind- so she made up a pattern. Voila! The Highland Argyle hat was born. She got so many compliments and custom requests from other Mommies that she thought she would start a custom order knitting business. Then she remembered that she had 5 kids...kids who need clean laundry and like to eat and stuff. So knitting for the masses was OUT! Things just kind of evolved from the Highland Argyle hat and now she has 29 hat designs in her portfolio. She loves being an indie designer!

Today our giveaway is the Highland Argyle hat pattern and 2 skeins of Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride Superwash worsted weight wool.

To enter just leave a comment below. Deadline to enter is December 1st. Winner will be announced December 2nd.

If you like this pattern go check out her other great patterns at Sugar Lane.
